Adam and Morgan Sabbag

Our cover contest winners, Adam and Morgan Sabbag, met through a mutual friend at a birthday party and hit it off immediately, going on three dates just within the first week of meeting. They were engaged on their third-year anniversary in Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel, a special place to the couple because they vacationed there for their first anniversary. Adam had the entire engagement planned prior to leaving for Las Vegas, and even arranged for a surprise congratulatory dinner with the couple’s entire family at Morgan’s favourite restaurant following the proposal.

The vision Adam and Morgan had for their wedding was simple ― beautiful with great food! They wanted to stay away from the typical wedding, so they avoided large convention centers and banquet halls. They chose the Tamahaac Club in Ancaster because of its beauty and simplicity.   The Victorian-style house and its long, windy driveway ― situated on the edge of the Ancaster escarpment ― reminded Morgan of the house from her favourite childhood movie, The Secret Garden. The wedding was planned around the colour scheme of white, ivory, and shades of cream, with the bride’s dress, the bridesmaid’s dresses, and even the attire of the mothers of the bride and groom working within this palette. The bride took extra care in picking out the invitations by Champagne Press, flowers, vases, card lanterns, and the many, many candles that were placed literally all over the grounds.

Morgan says the most difficult part of planning their wedding was finding a photographer who could capture it all. Elizabeth in Love was her first choice. After a little research, Morgan realized it was imperative that Beth was available the date of their wedding ― if she hadn't been, Morgan admits she may have actually rescheduled the whole thing!

Morgan’s advice for the engaged couple currently in the planning process? “Find a really good day-of coordinator. We used the Bride's Butler, who I highly recommend. If she could tackle my seven page day-of to-do list, I'm sure a major wedding day emergency would be a piece of cake.”
